LYNX Releases Bi-Directional Quad 12G SDI/Fiber Transceiver

The OTR 5444 by LYNX Technik is a quad-channel bi-directional 12G SDI/Fiber transceiver for the rack and card-based Series 5000 platform.

The OTR 5444 delivers uncompressed 4K signals over fiber across short & long distances. This transceiver module provides a bi-directional electrical to optical and optical to electrical conversion solution over four independent channels. It is suitable for SDI video signals up to 12Gbit/s and supports up to 8 modules in a standard 2RU frame. Optional fiber SFP sub-modules are also available.

In addition to the four bi-directional 12G SDI high-density micro BNC electrical interfaces, the OTR 5444 also consists of four 12G SDI optical inputs and four 12G SDI optical outputs arranged in the optical TR slots. The card is configurable via the APPolo control software.

LYNX releases NEW yellobrik: OSW 1022 Optical Switch

The latest yellobrik by LYNX Technik is the OSW 1022 optical 2×2 switch. This yellobrik offers connection paths between two pairs of fiber optics.

Suitable for a variety of applications, the compact OSW 1022 is ideal for fiber line emergency switchover, route diversity, optical networking system protection as well as reconfiguration. Select passive optical paths via GPI control, local dip switches or PC/Mac. Additionally, select and monitor State 1 & State 2 optical connection paths with GPIs and GPOs.

Finally, the OSW 1022 comes with both latching and non-latching modes. This is useful in the event of a power failure. Either the optical switch maintains its current optical path (in latching mode) or the optical switch switches to its State 1 connection path (in non-latching mode).

To sum up, the OSW 1022  2×2 optical switch by LYNX Technik is a compact 1 slot yellobrik module with:

  • Two optical connection paths: State 1 & State 2
  • Latching & non-latching modes
  • 2 x GPI for path selections
  • 2 x GPO for connection path monitoring
  • 4 x dip switches for local control

New Yellobrik Dual 12G SDI Fiber Transmitter

LYNX Technik announces its latest yellobrik solution: a 12Gbit Dual Channel SDI Fiber Transmitter with CWDM technology!

Both cost-effective and flexible, this new yellobrik model (OTT 1442) transmits uncompressed 12G SDI video signals over fiber as well as over long distances (up to 10 km). The CWDM technology combines multiple signal wavelengths into one fiber optic cable. This model covers all 18 CWDM wavelengths via nine pairs of wavelength choices.

What’s more, this yellobrik 12Gbit Fiber Transmitter pairs with LYNX’ fiber receivers and multiplexers/demultiplexers. This in turn creates a cost-effective CWDM fiber system for up to 18 signals on one fiber link. Alternatively, this yellobrik also acts as a standalone device. It can be individually mounted or used with the 19″ yellobrik rack trays, building a larger 12G transport solution.

The two input and outputs operate independently from one another. They are also fully automatic. Incoming signals (up to 12G SDI) are auto-detected before being transmitted, ensuring that different formats and standards are carried on each channel. In other words, this is truly a plug-and-play module.

New 8K SDI <> Fiber Converter by LYNX now available!

LYNX Technik has launched a new 8K SDI to Fiber and Fiber to 8K SDI converter. The converter is for its Series 5000 product line. This 8K SDI <>fiber converter module transports and converts up to 8K-SDI (12G, 6G, 3G, HD, SD) over optical fiber cable and vice-versa.

With both fiber and electrical interfaces, the DVD 5480 HO module can support video formats up to 8K SDI. The versatile and rugged cards are operable in four different modes, providing unparalleled flexibility.

Additionally, this Series 5000 card allows single-link 12G SDI signals to be converted to quad-link 3G-SDI and quad-link 3G-SDI to be converted to single-link 12G-SDI. The DVD 5480 HO module also allows users to convert UHD signals between 3G and single-link 12G-SDI.

The Series 5000 is a rack and card-based modular interface, configurable with multiple modules. Various solutions include: converters, embedders/de-embedders, distribution amplifiers, frame synchronizers, audio delay and audio distribution. The centralized APPolo software solution remotely controls all connected Series 5000 hardware.

LYNX launched Yellobrik 8K Fiber Transmission Solution

At IBC 2019,  LYNX Technik launched yellobrik (model: OTR 1A41) 8K fiber transmission, solving the issue of transporting uncompressed 8K content (up to 48G) over long distances in real-time with zero signal degradation or loss.

The standalone kit includes everything needed to send 8K uncompressed video over a single fiber link: the 8K optical transmitter, 8K optical receiver plus power supply.

At this year’s NAB Show, LYNX Technik AG® will be launching a static HDR/SDR Converter for its greenMachine processing platform.

The greenMachine Static HDR provides a powerful conversion and processing tool that will ensure the rich and high dynamic range imagery and enhanced color gamut captured by HDR cameras gets successfully delivered to the viewing audience.

HDR (High Dynamic Range) is important in today’s modern workflow as it offers viewers enhanced contrast and increased brightness plus more vibrant color, creating a superior image to current standard HD and 4K UHD signals. Not only does the greenMachine HDR static conversion solution provide this enhanced viewing experience, it also allows users to mix SDR and HDR production in a single real-time workflow.

Through sophisticated algorithms and the automated application of color and contrast corrections, the adaptive and universal greenMachine HDR Converter supports real-time static HDR conversion between SDR and HDR, HDR and SDR, and between different HDR standards delivering greatly enhanced images.

The greenMachine HDR Converter operates in both single channel (12G SDI 4K UHD) and 4-channel mode (3G SDI 1080p). Furthermore, it provides video frame synchronization, full audio support and 4K/UHD up/down conversion with cross-conversion also being available in the 4K single channel mode.

The included CustomControl software driven by the greenGUI interface offers a simplified control interface and all color and contrast parameters in the HDR conversion process. greenMachine HDR is compatible with greenMachine titan 4-channel hardware and, like all greenMachine Constellations (configurations) can be controlled and monitored remotely via third party master control software.
