In their new series Lukas Explains, Lukas Mahler, Marketing & Sales Assistant at AVT, showcases the Pretalk Streaming Feature available for all AVT Telephone Hybrids.
Telephone Hybrids convert an incoming phone call into an audio signal suitable for the studio environment. Three different line interfaces are often used: POTS (analogue telephone lines), ISDN or ethernet interfaces using voice over IP technology.

By implementing the AES67 transmission standard into its telephone hybrids, AVT facilitates the integration of these systems into modern IP-based studio environments.
This upgrade ensures communication between AES67-compatible Ravenna and Dante devices. It has been tested with DANTE, LAWO and MERGING AeS67-enabled systems. Thanks to this upgrade, MAGIC TH1Go and MAGIC TH2plus provide four audio channels while MAGIC TH6 and MAGIC THipPro provide eight audio channels. Naturally, the existing audio interfaces can still be used.
This added functionality is provided in a fee-based software update. It’s not necessary to adjust any hardware. The only limitation is that AES67 cannot be used together with ISDN.

The MAGIC ACX Dante WAN Bridge by AVT is a multi-channel PCM system that enables transmission of up to 32 uncompressed audio signals via wide area networks (WAN). This enables Dante Network connections over large distances.
More specifically, the coding is done via PCM16/PCM24/PCM32. The integrated 32-channel Dante interface provides audio connection for the audio inputs/outputs. It also features redundant GbE interfaces and supports AES67. What’s more, manage up to 10 systems (including graphic surveillance) from 5 workplaces thanks to the user-friendly operating software.
Limited maximum latency of Dante in wide area networks, high jitter and possible time differences can make reliable transmission difficult. The MAGIC ACX Dante WAN Bridge solves these issues by offering a jitter buffer that includes an automatic mode and intelligent sample rate adaption (SRA).

Sales Director Wolfgang Peters from AVT showcases the integration of the Ember+ protocol into the MAGIC systems. A Lawo mixing console is used in this particular video.
Ember+ is available free of charge on most AVT devices (excludes MAGIC AC1 XIP audio codec & MAGIC AD1 ETI decoder). Thanks to the optional Ember+ Consumer Extension, a simplified connection between DHD and Lawo consoles is now possible.

The new MAGIC THipPro VMS answering systems by AVT record up to 32 callers simultaneously!
Including either 8 or 16 caller lines, the recorded signals are saved as WAV files on the PC and can be played back directly or processed externally. Each voice message system offers individual announcement texts at the beginning of a call and/or a rejection text if a recording exceeds the defined time.
The DSP-based recording system is available in two versions: MAGIC THipPro 8 VoIP VMS for eight and MAGIC THipPro 16 VoIP VMS for 16 caller lines. The MAGIC THipPro 8 VoIP VMS can be upgraded to 16 lines if necessary.
Configuration and control of the answering systems is done via the included MAGIC THipPro VMS Client. Up to five VMS clients can access one system (first license is included with delivery).
