Monitor 64 Dante Channels with Nixer’s RD Dante

The RD Dante is Nixer Pro Audio‘s flagship Audio over IP monitoring unit. Monitor up to 64 Dante channels at 48kHz (32 channels at 96kHz) with this 2RU 19 inch rack mounted monitoring and diagnostics unit.

Intuitively operate the RD Dante with the large 127mm 24bit color LCD touch panel. The unit features in-built 75mm full range speakers which are mounted in optimized ported cabinets. Additionally, simultaneous outputs in the form of the stereo balanced line outputs and AES output are accessed via XLR connectors on the rear of the unit. Plus 2x IEC mains input connectors allow for redundant power supply connections.

Nixer Remote Control App for RL256

The Nixer Remote Control App adds a new alternative and intuitive user interface to the RL Series. The RL Series of rack mount 64-256 channel AoIP monitors offers both Dante and/or Ravenna ports.

Nixer Displays RS32 AoIP Change-Over Switch & RP64 Patch Panel

Nixer launched their RS32 Audio over IP change-over switch and their RP64 (64 in, 64 out) digital AoIP patch panel at IBC 2022.

Simple and intuitive to operate, the RS32 provides 32 individual 2-by-1 change-over switches. Each switch has two inputs that can be routed to any one output. The switches can be ganged together in order to create a maximum 32-pole switch. The RS32 is designed for quick reassignment of critical audio sources in the event that a main source fails, making it easy to seamlessly route to a backup device.

The RP64 is a 64 Dante input to 64 Dante output digital patchbay. Connect any Dante input to any Dante output thanks to the intuitive interface. Effortlessly re-patch critical signals without the use of a laptop with Dante controller. When re-patching with RP64, it is near instantaneous.

Both the RS32 and the RP64 share the same compact 1RU enclosure. They can be powered via PoE on the primary Dante port. Plus, a DC input offers power redundancy, while a secondary RJ45 port ensures network redundancy.

Compact 64 channel Dante Audio Monitor by Nixer: RL64

The Nixer RL64 is a 1U 19inch rack mounted Dante monitoring and mixing unit capable of mixing up to 64 Dante channels!

In mixing mode, mix up to 64 Dante channels at 48kHz or 32 channels at 96kHz. Plus, the microphone input (via a headphone connector) and AES input create a 67 into 2 mixer. In listening mode, simply touch a channel to instantly route to the LR output and cancel the previous selection.

The LR bus’ outputs are presented via inbuilt 4mm x 9mm full range speakers or via a 3.5mm headphone jack. The speakers automatically mute when a headphone jack is inserted. Simultaneous outputs are available thanks to the stereo balanced line outputs and AES output, accessed on the rear of the RL64 Dante via XLR connectors. The mix output is routed to the Dante output as well.

Control the RL64 with the intuitive navigation menu on the 24-bit color LCD and capacitive touch panel. This high-res screen presents comprehensive metering, routing and status information.

The rear of the RL64 Dante features 2x balanced line outputs on 3 pin male XLRs and AES output on 3 pin male XLR. Configure these outputs to follow the main volume settings of the speakers/headphones or set them to follow the main Mute control.

Nixer Adopts Merging ZMAN OEM solution for RAVENNA

Nixer Pro Audio uses Merging ZMAN OEM solution for Ravenna!

The Nixer RL Series easily caters to both Dante and RAVENNA network protocols. Merging ZMAN is pin compatible with the Audinate Brooklyn 2 board. Additionally, it offers high channel counts. This is important because the RL Series covers 64 to 256 channels from a single operator position, depending on the model.

The RL Series is automatically ST2110 compatible with ZMAN. Nixer’s next target is to include NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 later this year, plus a remote-control option using iPad via Wi-Fi.

The RL series comes in a 1RU 19″ enclosure with redundant power supply sockets. The panel also features the analogue outputs, AES3 I/O and Ethernet posts (appropriate number to represent the number of channels in the individual models). Monitor on internal or external speakers or headphones. The high-resolution touch screen provides comprehensive metering and status information.

All RL models operate at 44.1kHz, 48kHz and 96kHz.

Mix & Match Dante and Ravenna ports on Nixer RL Series

The RL Series 1U Rack Mount AoIP Monitoring Tool & Mixer by Nixer allows users to mix & match Dante and Ravenna ports on the same unit.

For instance, use 1 Dante port and 1 Ravenna port on an RL 128. Or use two of each on the RL256. However, it’s not mandatory to mix & match. Simply use all Dante or Ravenna ports in a single rack unit product.

The new RL Series concept offers four different models: RL64, RL128, RL192 and RL256. Each model has two modes of operation, mixing and listening. Mix up to 256 channels at 48kHz (128 channels at 96kHz), plus microphone input and AES input. Listen by selecting a channel and routing to the LR output.

Nixer Joins RAVENNA Community

Nixer Pro Audio recently became part of the Ravenna Partner Program!

Responding to customer requests, Nixer designed their RL-Series of 1U rack-mounted AoIP mixing & monitoring units to offer Ravenna compatibility. Every model in the RL-Series range (available in 64, 128, 192 and 256-channel versions) is configurable at purchase to be either Ravenna or Dante.

The RL-Series provides two modes of operation: a mixing mode and a listening mode. Mix up to 256 channels at 48 kHz plus a microphone input and AES input to create a 259-into-2 mixer. Alternatively, in listening mode, touch a channel and instantly route to the L/R output while canceling any previous selection.
