TAG Content Matching at IBC 2023

TAG Video Systems displayed their latest innovation – Content Matching Technology – at IBC 2023.

With Content Matching Technology, detect similar content across two different streams in order to ensure correct, uninterrupted delivery to the proper destination.

How does it work? “By creating a unique fingerprint for each video frame and audio envelope and matching them across the entire media distribution party against a user-defined reference point,” explains TAG VS.

With this technology, identify and correlate audio and video uniqueness regardless of resolution, bitrate or frame rate, thus enabling a match between any points within the workflow. TAG can still identify and confirm identical and correct content, even after the content has been processed and manipulated.

Content Matching enables the following applications:

  • Frame-accurate latency measurement between any points in the workflow
  • Comparing quality and content accuracy across different feeds in order to compare distribution methods or alternative paths
  • Confirm ad insertion to SCTE messages with frame accuracy to assure & protect revenue
  • Measure, validate A/V alignment and audio channel drift at any point within the workflow

TAG VS Wins “Best of Show” at IBC for MCS with Bridge Technology!

The Media Control System with Bridge Technology by TAG Video Systems took home “Best of Show” at IBC!

TAG’s MCS Media Control System with Bridge Technology was part of the winning entries in the TVBEurope category of Best of Show at IBC awards programme 2022. With Bridge Technology, MCS ingests a stream once then delivers an optimized version to multiple locations.

MCS is the newest layer of TAG’s Realtime Media Performance (RMP) Platform, a 100% IP, 100% software, multi-level, open-source solution that monitors, aggregates, manages & utilizes data-driven viewer analytics to provide users with the insight required to build performant linear media systems. In other words, it transforms how users extract and utilize their own data, giving them improved operational performance and customization. It serves as an aggregation engine, system manager and orchestrator for the data collected by TAG’s Multi-Channel Monitoring systems.

TAG’s Bridge Technology, powered by the MCS, enables the user to receive a source once (video, audio, metadata) and display it directly on any TAG system. It allows the MCS to talk to other MCS’s providing users a way of replicating signals and transferring streams. TAG Bridge then optimizes the sizing, format and delivery protocol to fit the configuration of numerous recipients, drastically reducing compute resources and optimizing the amount of network bandwidth consumed. This in turn frees up capacity for the customer.

TAG Introduces MCS Enhanced with New Bridge Technology!

With TAG Video System’s Bridge Technology, MCS Media Control System ingests a stream once then delivers an optimized version to multiple locations.

This NAB Product-of-the-Year solution is a valuable addition for multi-studio live production applications. The MCS transforms how users extract and utilize their own data, giving them improved operational performance as well as significant customization. It serves as an aggregation engine, system manager and orchestrator for the data collected by TAG’s MCM (Multi-Channel Monitoring) systems.

Thanks to an open-source paradigm, the MCS exposes probed and monitored data to third-party analytic & visualization applications. This allows companies to manage the entire monitoring stack from end-to-end.

TAG’s Bridge Technology, powered by the MCS, enables the user to receive a source once (video, audio, metadata) and display it directly on any TAG system. TAG Bridge then optimizes the sizing, format and delivery protocol to fit the configuration of numerous recipients. This in turn drastically reduces compute resources and optimizes the amount of network bandwidth consumed, thus freeing up capacity for the customer.

TAG Announces Support for NDI 5 & SRT

TAG Video Systems recently added support for NDI 5, the latest version of Network Device Interface, and SRT, Secure Reliable Transport. These two protocols increase connectivity and signal transport options while opening the door to further collaboration and creativity!

NDI 5

Network Device Interface (NDI) is a realtime low latency IP video network technology that allows users to build IP-based video networks and benefit from uncompressed video IP networks. With NDI 5, connect to a wide range of NDI sources such as cameras, switchers, PCs, phones, and video conferencing applications (i.e. Skype). Also capture the output from PCs in order to add websites, PC UIs and video conference participants as tiles on a TAG mosaic. Additionally, enable NDI as an output format. This creates an inexpensive, low-latency and high-quality connection to display devices.

SRT

Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) is an open-source transport protocol. It allows for robust transmission of high-quality high-bandwidth video signals over public internet, unmanaged networks, and WANs without loss or impairments. SRT assures transport of signals across networks with no loss of quality and minimal latency while providing encryption, protecting content during transit. Thanks to SRT support, acquire signals from distant viewers such as remote workers. SRT is often used in cloud workflows and ground to cloud/cloud to ground links to build live linear cloud workflows.

Finally, when current TAG customers upgrade to the latest version of TAG software, they can enable NDI and SRT at no additional cost.

JT-NM Self-Test results for PHABRIX’ Qx Rasterizer & Sx TAG

Various PHABRIX solutions successfully self-tested against the criteria for AMWA NMOS TR-1001-1 and SMPTE 2110 at the JT-NM Spring 2020 self-test. The products that self-tested include the Qx rasterizer and handheld Sx TAG.

PHABIRX_JT-NM self-test_TEVIOS

The JT-NM Tested Program shows how various IP-based equipment aligns with the SMPTE ST 2110, SMPTE ST 2059 and AMWA NMOS TR-1001-1 standards and requirements. The Qx ST 2110 “JT-NM Self-Tested” core IP feature set provides operators with ST 2110 confidence status monitoring. Furthermore, it is designed for HD IP ST 2110/2022-7 AMWA NMOS and ST 2022-6 environments. The Sx TAG, on the other hand, offers support for modern broadcast IP systems with JT-NM Self-Tested encapsulation and decapsulation. A built-in synchroniser supports hybrid operation, allowing asynchronous SDI sources to be locked to PTP for ST 2110 encapsulation.
