New Volucam Model by IO Industries Records 4K/UHD Video at 120fps

The newest Volucam by IO Industries captures 4K/UHD video at up to 120fps! This is thanks to its 9MP Gpixel GMAX2509 global shutter image sensor.

The 2.5μm global shutter pixel design leads to an optical format of 11.9mm diagonal (2/3″) making it compatible with various C-mount lenses. Maximum frame rates are 120fps for 8-bit, 100fps for 10-bit, or 85fps for 12-bit. What’s more, it has a resolution of 4224×2160 pixels.

Released in April 2020, the QxL 25G IP UHD ST 2110 rasterizer by PHABRIX is now shipping!

Considered the world’s most compact, feature-rich 25G IP UHD ST 2110 rasterizer, the QxL is flexible and meets the needs of professional broadcast media IP networks. Not to mention, it contains the same JT-NM Tested features of the Qx. Furthermore, this 10G/25G IP enabled rasterizer supports JT-NM TR 1001-1:2018, 2110-20 (video), 2110-30 (PCM audio), 2110-31 (AES transport) and 2110-40 (ANC media) flows. It also features 2022-7 SIPS and independent PTP slaves for fully-redundant media network operation.

The QxL toolset supports DHCP on all IP ports. It also offers unicast DNS-SD, AMWA NMOS IS-04 Discovery and Registration, IS-05 Connection management and Network Topology Discovery using LLDP. The user-friendly GUI offers 16 user-configurable windows for rapid visualization of various workflow and traffic configurations.

Most importantly, the QxL features the same accessible user interface as the Qx. Therefore minimal re-training costs exist for current Qx users.

Dejero Releases Core Software Update

The Core 5.4 software update by Dejero enables 4K UHD encoding/decoding, enhances stream encryptions and adds an additional two-way communication channel. The latest version of this software improves Dejero’s EnGo mobile transmitter, rack-mounted FlexPoint transceiver, PathWay encoder and WayPoint receiver.

Proprietary Smart Blending Technology enhances connection path reliability, delivers greater bandwidth, and expands coverage. Working alongside this is Dejero’s Hybrid Encoding Technology. Thanks to this technology, high-quality video is delivered even in challenging situations where bandwidth is constrained. In other words, it is well-suited for low-latency, live video contribution.

As previously mentioned, version 5.4 introduces new features to a variety of Dejero solutions. For instance, the FlexPoint 111 transceiver (integrated encoder/decoder) can now transmit and receive resolutions of up to 4K UHD at 60 fps with live bitrates up to 60Mb/s. The EnGo 1.3 & EnGo 260 mobile transmitters and WayPoint 104 receiver now offer two-way intercom communication. EnGo 260 also includes enhanced power management.

Lastly, Core 5.4 increases transmission security. It features AES with 256 bit key, keeping audio and video data secure. This is particularly important when using a single public network connection.

New 8K SDI <> Fiber Converter by LYNX now available!

LYNX Technik has launched a new 8K SDI to Fiber and Fiber to 8K SDI converter. The converter is for its Series 5000 product line. This 8K SDI <>fiber converter module transports and converts up to 8K-SDI (12G, 6G, 3G, HD, SD) over optical fiber cable and vice-versa.

With both fiber and electrical interfaces, the DVD 5480 HO module can support video formats up to 8K SDI. The versatile and rugged cards are operable in four different modes, providing unparalleled flexibility.

Additionally, this Series 5000 card allows single-link 12G SDI signals to be converted to quad-link 3G-SDI and quad-link 3G-SDI to be converted to single-link 12G-SDI. The DVD 5480 HO module also allows users to convert UHD signals between 3G and single-link 12G-SDI.

The Series 5000 is a rack and card-based modular interface, configurable with multiple modules. Various solutions include: converters, embedders/de-embedders, distribution amplifiers, frame synchronizers, audio delay and audio distribution. Test signal generators, multiplexers/demultiplexers, splitters, switches and a full range of fiber options/accessories are also available. The centralized APPolo software solution remotely controls all connected Series 5000 hardware.
