Media Links launches its 4K JPEG-XS version of the MDP3020 MAX™ IP Media Gateway at IBC 2022!

The MDP3020 is SMPTE standards-based and enhanced with support for two 4K-UHD/12G SDI video channels. It meets the need for cost effective, remotely configurable and protected 4K video over IP services at the network edge. By applying JPEG-XS compression and encapsulating the content into packets for transport over an IP network, the MDP3020 MAX processes incoming 4K, 12G SDI video/audio streams.

MDP3020 utilizes JPEG-XS with inherent high image compression and ultra-low latency processing. Use the MDP3020  in live, remote production applications, specifically where network edge bandwidths are constrained and immediate interaction between studio and venues is crucial.

LYNX Introduces Its First-Ever Rack Controller for Yellobrik!

The RCT 1012 by LYNX Technik is the first of its kind yellobrik rack controller!

Control, configure, and update via IP up to 12 yellobriks housed in a yellobrik rack. The RCT 1012 offers a bulk update method. This means eliminating the time-consuming task of updating, configuring, and setting parameters of individual yellobrik modules.

Once installed, simply manage the yellobrik installation centralized with LYNX’ control software APPolo and the embedded yellobrik functionality. New 2110 IP Generator Instrument for PHABRIX QxL

PHABRIX releases QxL version 4.2: the QxL rasterizer now generates the user interface (GUI) as a 2110 flow, making the GUI viewable from anywhere!

V4.2 allows the QxL to simultaneously generate and analyze SMPTE 2110/2022-7 video & audio flows. It can generate two sets of video & audio 2022-7 flow pairs as part of the generator license:

  • Test pattern as a flow: 1 x ST 2110-20 (video) and 4 x ST 2110-30/31 (audio) with 2022-7
  • Monitor output (GUI) as a flow: 1 x ST 2110-20 (video) and 1 x ST 2110-30/31 (audio) with 2022-7
  • Up to seven flow pairs (14 flows) from generator and monitor output.

SAPEC Integrates SRT Protocol to Optimize Streaming Performance

The LAGUNA Media Processor (LMP) by SAPEC now includes SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) protocol, optimizing streaming performance over unpredictable networks. Thanks to this SRT open-source protocol, the LAGUNA solutions can now carry out secure, high-quality and low latency video over public IP networks (internet).

SRT is an ideal solution for video transport over public IP networks, reducing the costs from UDP and FEC. Applied at the endpoints of the video link as part of the stream flow, SRT protocol delivers the highest quality and lowest latency video. It adapts to network conditions in real time, compensating for jitter and bandwidth fluctuations due to existing network congestion. Thanks to the SRT’s error recovery mechanism, packet loss is minimized and end-to-end AES security encryption is supported.

PHABRIX QxL – 25G IP Rasterizer Wins Silver at DMW Awards 2020!

The QxL – 25G IP Rasterizer by PHABRIX receives silver for IP Broadcast Solutions at the Digital Media World Awards 2020. The QxL supports IP media as standard while offering SDI as an option.

Flexible and compact, this 25GbE UHD rasterizer meets the requirements of 10GbE/25GbE IP workflows. This IP-enabled rasterizer supports JT-NM TR 1001-1:2018, 2110-20 (video), 2110-30 (PCM audio), 2110-31 (AES audio), and 2110-40 (ANC) media flows. It also provides fully-redundant media network operation thanks to 2022-7 Seamless IP Protection Switching (SIPS) and independent PTP slaves on each media port.

The QxL toolset supports DHCP on all IP ports. It also offers unicast DNS-SD, AMWA NMOS IS-04 Discovery and Registration, IS-05 Connection management and Network Topology Discovery using LLDP. The user-friendly GUI offers 16 user-configurable windows for rapid visualization of various workflow and traffic configurations.

Most importantly for HD IP broadcasting, an SDI I/O option provides 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI single, dual and quad link support making it one of the first devices of its kind for which SDI is an option, and not part of the core. It features optional Real Time Eye (RTE) 12G-SDI Eye and Jitter physical layer analysis. Furthermore, licenses can be added in order to accommodate UHD over IP, QC, engineering and HDR.
