LYNX Technik to release 12G SDI to HDMI Converter yellobrik

LYNX Technik’s newest yellobrik module (CDH 1411 converter) converts 12G SDI video signals to HDMI signals.

This compact and versatile 12G SDI to HDMI converter combats many monitoring & display applications in broadcast, post production and pro AV markets. To put it simply, convert any SDI video signal into an HDMI signal for monitoring and display. Additionally, fiber connectivity options add SDI fiber transmission and/or SDI fiber reception using the integrated fiber SFP socket.

Two channels of audio can be de-embedded in order to provide digital AES and analog audio outputs. The two selected audio channels can also be embedded into the HDMI output. Various on-screen monitoring features include individually selectable timecode burn-in, closed caption burn-in, 16 channel audio metering, safe area markers and Metadata display.

LYNX Releases yellobrik Sync Pulse Generator with Genlock

The latest yellobrik SPG 1708 by LYNX Technik is a sync pulse generator with genlock.

With the new SPG 1708, generate Bi- and Tri-level sync signals for almost any SD/HD standard. SPG 1708 generates test signals for Bi-Level sync signals and has an Audio Sync output based on a 48kH Word Clock or DARS.

This portable solution with genlock ensures that the module can lock to any HD or SD sync input, even across unmatched standards. More specifically, the module offers 3x HD tri-level sync outputs and 3x SD bi-level sync outputs. It supports all SD, HD, and composite video formats.

Easily access all controls, settings and instructions from the front panel. SPG 1708 is also yelloGUI compatible, LYNX Technik’s free yellobrik software.

It can be used in standalone mode or with the yellobrik rack frame for larger systems. Mount up to 14 yellobrik modules with full power redundancy.

LYNX yellobrik Rack Extension Available for greenMachine Rack Frame

LYNX Technik releases a yellobrik extension kit, RYB 6000, for its popular greenMachine rack frame. The RYB 6000 adds up to six yellobriks next to any greenMachine!

This new RYB 6000 extension kit for the greenMachine RFR 6000 rack frame adds rack space for the yellobrik line of throw-down signal processing solutions. Now, rack both greenMachine and yellobrik modules in a single system.

The frame extension holds up to six, standard-sized yellobriks and fits neatly next to the greenMachine hardware installed in the RFR 6000. It has built-in power connections while accommodating two power supplies for redundancy protection. It also offers GPIO functionality via an RJ-45 connector.

Thanks to this rack frame and rack extension system, save on cabling, power and space. Plus, access the modules quickly and reduce time spent on maintenance.

LYNX Releases 48G Fiber Transmission System

LYNX Technik recently released the OTR 1A42, an extendible 8K fiber transmission system for its yellobrik series.

This new fiber solution is ideal for transmitting multiple uncompressed 12G SDI streams. It allows users to extend 48Gbit/s (96Gbit/s in combination with the OTR 1A41) from a 12G infrastructure with a single cable! Transmit a wide range of additional channels thanks to the UPG port.

This particular yellobrik solves the issue of transporting real-time, uncompressed 8K content over 10km (6.2 miles) with zero signal degradation or loss. More specifically for 8K applications, the signal is split over four 12G SDI links (48G) and supports full 8k resolution (up to 7680×4320@60 Hz). Each of the four 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI channels are fully independent & individually reclocked.

The self-contained kit includes:

  • 8K optical transmitter
  • 8K optical receiver
  • Power supply (excluding fiber cable)

Additionally, pair the OTR 1A42 with the yellobrik OTR 1A41 to enable 96Gbit/s throughput over fiber system.

LYNX Launches New yellobrik Ethernet | Fiber Transceivers & Converters

LYNX Technik recently announced seven new fiber yellobriks designed to extend the reach of 10Gbit/s ethernet signals over fiber.

Yellobrik Ethernet | Fiber converters offer stable, high-speed signal connections between locations and enable the connections of copper-based Ethernet equipment to single & multi-mode fiber optic cable. Convert fiber to copper ethernet, copper to fiber, fiber to fiber (multi-mode <> single-mode) or simply extend electrical ethernet signals over a bi-directional single fiber. These new yellobriks are hot swappable and hot pluggable while being user friendly.

Multiple models exist: the OET 1910, OET 1940 & OBD 1910. Use any of the them as standalone units or mount them onto 19″ yellobrik rack trays.

Firstly, the OET 1910 models offer fiber <> copper conversion and have two 10Gbit/s ports per module. In full duplex mode, OET 1910 offers a maximum throughput of 20Gbit/s.

Secondly, the OET 1940 models provide fiber <> copper conversion and fiber to fiber conversion making them multi-functional. They support CWDM fiber transmission for the full 18 wavelengths of coverage. Various SFP fiber transceiver modules are also available.

Finally, the OBD 1910 models offer a 10Gbit/s ethernet extension over a bi-directional single fiber. They also include two ports per module (maximum throughput of 20Gbit/s in full duplex mode).

LYNX Introduces Its First-Ever Rack Controller for Yellobrik!

The RCT 1012 by LYNX Technik is the first of its kind yellobrik rack controller!

Control, configure, and update via IP up to 12 yellobriks housed in a yellobrik rack. The RCT 1012 offers a bulk update method. This means eliminating the time-consuming task of updating, configuring, and setting parameters of individual yellobrik modules.

Once installed, simply manage the yellobrik installation centralized with LYNX’ control software APPolo and the embedded yellobrik functionality. Quickly and easily visualize, control, and configure all of the yellobriks connected to an IP network via the rack controller’s ethernet port connection. The RCT 1012 also detects status information on primary and redundant power supplies.

The RCT 1012 is shipping in February, 2021.

LYNX Introduces 12Gbit Bidirectional SDI/Fiber Transceiver

LYNX Technik releases their OBD 1410 12Gbit Bidirectional SDI/Fiber Transceiver!

This cost-effective, bidirectional fiber optic to SDI transmitter and receiver relies on a single fiber link supplied in a compact self-contained package.LYNX_OBD1410_Transceiverworkflow_TEVIOS

This particular yellobrik module comes in pairs: Type A and Type B work together in a WDM closed loop application. They each have an electrical SDI in and SDI out connection. Additionally, each channel is fully independent, allowing for different standards and formats of SDI video. The modules are fully compatible with 3Gbit Level A and Level B formats. Plus, before conversion they auto-detect & re-clock 1.5Gbit, 3Gbit, 6Gbit or 12Gbit SDI sources.

Finally, this solution cannot be integrated into a CWDM multiplexed system. The system used WDM optical multiplexing and therefore should only be used in point to point applications.

LYNX releases NEW yellobrik: OSW 1022 Optical Switch

The latest yellobrik by LYNX Technik is the OSW 1022 optical 2×2 switch. This yellobrik offers connection paths between two pairs of fiber optics.

Suitable for a variety of applications, the compact OSW 1022 is ideal for fiber line emergency switchover, route diversity, optical networking system protection as well as reconfiguration. Select passive optical paths via GPI control, local dip switches or PC/Mac. Additionally, select and monitor State 1 & State 2 optical connection paths with GPIs and GPOs.

Finally, the OSW 1022 comes with both latching and non-latching modes. This is useful in the event of a power failure. Either the optical switch maintains its current optical path (in latching mode) or the optical switch switches to its State 1 connection path (in non-latching mode).

To sum up, the OSW 1022  2×2 optical switch by LYNX Technik is a compact 1 slot yellobrik module with:

New Yellobrik Dual 12G SDI Fiber Transmitter

LYNX Technik announces its latest yellobrik solution: a 12Gbit Dual Channel SDI Fiber Transmitter with CWDM technology!

Both cost-effective and flexible, this new yellobrik model (OTT 1442) transmits uncompressed 12G SDI video signals over fiber as well as over long distances (up to 10 km). The CWDM technology combines multiple signal wavelengths into one fiber optic cable. This model covers all 18 CWDM wavelengths via nine pairs of wavelength choices.

What’s more, this yellobrik 12Gbit Fiber Transmitter pairs with LYNX’ fiber receivers and multiplexers/demultiplexers. This in turn creates a cost-effective CWDM fiber system for up to 18 signals on one fiber link. Alternatively, this yellobrik also acts as a standalone device. It can be individually mounted or used with the 19″ yellobrik rack trays, building a larger 12G transport solution.

The two input and outputs operate independently from one another. They are also fully automatic. Incoming signals (up to 12G SDI) are auto-detected before being transmitted, ensuring that different formats and standards are carried on each channel. In other words, this is truly a plug-and-play module.

LYNX launched Yellobrik 8K Fiber Transmission Solution

At IBC 2019,  LYNX Technik launched yellobrik (model: OTR 1A41) 8K fiber transmission, solving the issue of transporting uncompressed 8K content (up to 48G) over long distances in real-time with zero signal degradation or loss.
