Leader Electronics of Europe unveiled the Sx2 series at IBC 2026. This portable instrument brings 12G-SDI signal generation, analysis and monitoring together in a single 1.5 kg unit, designed for the field, the technical room and the OB van. It builds on the heritage of both brands: the portable design elements of PHABRIX and the precision of Leader.
The series includes two models:
- Sx2 – generation and analysis of 12G, 6G, 3G, 1.5G and 270M-SDI, from 4K UHD down to SD
- Sx2E – adds SDI physical layer analysis, with Real-Time Eye (RTE), jitter measurement and a 12G loop output
The 7.5″ touchscreen (1920 x 1200) and rotary control give access to up to 8 layouts of 3 or 4 instruments, which can be saved as presets.
On the audio side, the Sx2 measures 16 channels from among 128 embedded channels and detects Dolby E, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby ED2 as standard. The SX2-HDR option adds HDR analysis (BT.2100 HLG and PQ, S-Log3, SR Live) with a nits graticule and a 7-band heatmap. The battery is user-replaceable and charges over USB-C.
