Hybrid facilities rarely receive clean, uniform signals. Formats and frame rates differ, audio may arrive as MADI or AES while the video is SDI, and a reference can drop. The new PVD 5440 DO from LYNX Technik is a single 12G-SDI Series 5000 card built to handle all of it.
- Up/Down/Cross conversion: between virtually all broadcast formats, including resolution and frame rate, with motion-adaptive de-interlacing followed by diagonal interpolation. Crop, zoom and horizontal flip are included.
- Frame and line synchronization: to bi-level or tri-level reference, with automatic reference detection. If the reference is lost, the card continues in free-run, with an optional latch-back function when it returns. Video and audio delays can be adjusted independently.
- Audio: embedding and de-embedding across 12G-SDI, MADI and AES, with a 136 x 200 crossbar. Dolby passes through transparently.
- Test pattern generator: takes over automatically if the input signal is lost.
Connectivity: 1 x 12G-SDI input, 4 x 12G-SDI outputs (one can be set as a loop), optional fibre via SFP modules and 2 GPI inputs. Control is handled by LynxCentraal.
