The Qx advanced rasterizer for hybrid IP/SDI, 4K/UHD, HDR/WCG generation of analysis and monitoring brings all of the test & measurement tools required for transitioning to the next generation of video formats together. The Qx range was created for HD/3G/6G/12G-SDI and IP ST 2110/2022-7/2022-6 environments. The tools included in the instrument set provide rapid fault diagnosis, compliance monitoring plus product development.

Qx focuses on a classical SDI-based HD facility future-proofed for realtime IP. It features HD/3G over 10G IP and SDI as standard. UHD-SDI (6G/12G) and HDR available as optional in-field license upgrades. Realtime SDI Eye (Real-Time Eye) and jitter analysis with advanced SDI-Stress toolset available as factory hardware upgrades.

QxL* : 25G IP ST 2110 rasterizer

The QxL compact, feature-rich 25G IP ST 2110 rasterizer is designed for realtime UHD IP workflows on 25G networks. As standard it provides support for HD/3G 2110 and 2022-6 payloads on generic 10G/25G SFP28 interfaces. Not only is it fully 10G/25G IP-enabled, it also provides support for JT-NM TR 1001- 1:2018, ST 2110-20 (video), 2110-30 (PCM) and 2110-31 (AES transport) audio, 2110-40 ANC media flows, all with 2022-7 Seamless IP Protection Switching (SIPS).

Additional features include independent PTP slaves on both media ports for fully redundant media network operation with AMWA NMOS IS-04 discovery and IS-05 device connection management. Various options include UHD payloads, HDR, & IP-MEAS upgrades, SDI BNC & SFP media interfaces, SDI Eye & Jitter, and the SDI-STRESS toolset.

QxP* : 25G ST 2110 & 12G-SDI with Battery Power

The QxP “Portable QxL” inherits all of the advantages of the QxL rasterizer including its extensive toolset and flexible architecture for fully portable single/dual/quad SDI operation up to 12G-SDI copper, and SDI or 10/25G ST 2110 with NMOS over mono-mode/LR or multi-mode/SR fibre using industry standard SFPs. All within a 3RU form factor with touch screen and battery V-Plate option.

Additionally, the QxP features class-leading waveforms and a rich set of remote access options such as NoVNC and the UI as a 2110-20 flow.

Qx Series Toolsets


12G-SDI Physical Layer & Stress

The Physical layer toolset is an optional feature offering the fastest 12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI physical layer testing with Real-Time Eye Technology. It instantly highlights any SMPTE compliance issues including transition times, under/overshoot and eye amplitude. Additional tools are available to evaluate SDI interfaces.



A suite of AMWA NMOS tools provide flexibility when integrating with an NMOS controller & associated network topology. Supported protocols: IS-04 v1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 IS-05 1.02, 1.1 and IS-09 PTP domain. Provision of both in-band and out-of-band control topologies with manual, mDNS, DNS-SD and DHCP. Independently configure receivers as single or dual NMOS end points.


Dolby Decoder & Metadata Analyzer

View the Dolby E metadata present in a selected Dolby E or ED2 audio stream. Check the correct timing of Dolby E packets in the audio signal in an SDI or ST 2022-6 broadcast chain, and check whether the Dolby E is created correctly and transferred transparently by network equipment such as routers, switchers, satellite links, etc. Monitor the Dolby® audio from any of the SDI/2022-6 embedded audio, 2110-30/-31 or AES inputs. The decoded output and downmix can be metered, monitored, Loudness measured, and routed to AES outputs.


25G PCAP Tool

With a flexible range of options, capture live IP traffic on either a single or both media interfaces while in ST 2110 mode with this Packet Capture (PCAP) tool. The PCAP data is saved to a USB memory stick for offline analysis using third- party network analysis tools. Access the PCAP data on the USB remotely via a web browser.


Remote Control: noVNC

Browser remote access using noVNC technology to deliver 16 simultaneous scalable instruments over a remote network (included as standard).


HDR Visualization & Analysis

This toolset includes a signal generator, CIE chart, Luma false color heat map/highlighting, waveform monitor and vectorscope. All the main live production SDR/HDR formats are supported. An extensive set of test patterns include BT.2111 HDR color bars for HLG, PQ & SR Live and SDR 709 patterns.

Sx Series : Portable/Handheld Devices


Fast becoming the “Swiss army knife” of broadcast engineers, the Sx TAG by Phabrix is a highly versatile tool for diagnosing audio, visual and IP issues.

Sx TAG, with its SFP, SDI and analog I/O, is an incredibly versatile handheld device. Ideal for IP, 3G/HD/SD-SDI, optical SDI, HDMI and Analog test & measurement and AES eye analysis, Sx TAG is for applications demanding true mobility.

Sx TAG uses 10GE IP SFP+ modules developed by Embrionix to provide support for SMPTE ST 2110-20/30/40 encapsulation/decapsulation with ST 2059 PTP, SDP and NMOS plus SMPTE ST 2022-6 encapsulation/decapsulation.




Perfect for video technology manufacturing and live production applications, this portable 3G/HD/SD generation solution offers advanced SDI physical layer analysis (Eye & Jitter) and monitoring.

Using a graph of jitter versus time, the Jitter analysis instrument allows an engineer to analyze the nature of jitter present. Instant, Real-Time Eye technology not only speeds physical layer testing, but also delivers automated measurements and logging for the following parameters: rise time, fall time, delta, overshoot, undershoot & cable length.

The SxE also features Dolby® E, Dolby® Digital & Dolby® Digital Plus bitstream analysis while providing video status logging plus remote operation over Ethernet.


This portable 3G/HD/SD solution provides the same advanced signal generation, analysis & monitoring capabilities as the SxE minus the eye and jitter instruments.

With over 350 formats, the SxA offers support for SMPTE compliance testing as well as 16 channel audio generation and metering supporting Dolby® E, Dolby® Digital and Dolby® Digital metadata & bitstream analysis. The video and audio tools include a signal generator with a high-performance waveform, moving test patterns and ANC/VANC inspector.

PHABRIX Sx Range Battery Replacement

Lithium batteries typically lose approximately 20% capacity per year. As the Sx devices are lithium battery-based, it’s likely their batteries will need to be replaced every 3 to 5 years.

Fortunately, there are multiple options when it comes to battery replacements on these Sx devices:

  1. Self-Installation:  Replacement battery comes with installation instructions.
  2. Factory Installation & Calibration: Battery is installed at PHABRIX HQ. This also includes a factory update (where applicable) and testing & calibration.

Rx Series : 2K/3G/HD/SD Rasterizers

The Rx Series of analyzer/generator & monitoring rasterizers is perfect for quality control applications. Available as a single, dual or 4 channel 2K/3G/HD/SD-SDI video/audio analyzer and monitoring solution in a compact 1/2 RU or 1RU frame (depending on model). The Rx 500 offers signal generation for video and audio while supporting dual inputs per analyzer. Sixteen instruments can be presented for eye/jitter testing and video analysis simultaneously.

The starter configuration provides a single channel video analyzer plus optional eye/jitter analysis and signal generation. Through expansion modules, three more channels of video analysis/generation or 12x AES audio analysis/generation are able to be added.
